What a relief!

Outside in my "going commando" tent dress. Not a good look for me! I had surgery at 7am - this photo was taken about 3pm.
Short, sweet and to the point since I have to type by the hunt and peck method. They have my fingers occupied with monitors and 2 IVs in the top of the hands.

I am doing GREAT. MDA is doing a tremendous job of managing my pain, starting before surgery even. The anesthetic is wearing off though, so they told me to expect tomorrow to be tougher. That sounds like a challenge to me. The nerve block to the ribs should wear off in 3-4 days. Between the rib spreader and the cut rib, I expect to feel like I've been rolled by a rodeo bull. Hmmm. That may be my cover story.

Good night all. Keep the funny, irreverent stuff coming. You guys are cracking me up It helps the lungs and the attitude! Finally, sleep well tonightl knowing your prayers for a great surgery were answered. You guys are THE BEST!

Can't believe you are up walking like this. Sitting on the side of the bed is usually considered an amazing feat after this kind of surgery. You are out ready to catch the bus in your nightgown! I like your little bear friend too.

You are a warrior! I think there should've been a chief headdress for you to wear in your journey outside! Keep it going!!

HI Barb: Glad to hear things went well. We, Becky and I were on the Italy trip with you and your family. I was the quiet guy. Amazed by your wonderful family. Not really the praying sort but wishing everything goes well. I do put a lot of faith in amazing doctors.
I tear up reading your blog, Just feel bad you’re having to go through this. I know you try to keep in informative and light. So Barb. You’re just an amazing person, the world needs more Barbs. It could be a much better place. We need you around for a long, long time.
Great girls by the way. Everyone loved ‘em, yeah, Joe too. Does he ever get rattled? “Salt of the earth” is what I tell people about your gang.
Just the best to you and yours, thinking about you, Positive thoughts.

Imagine the pain in the rib tomorrow to be one of many jabs that Joe gave you for one of your comments. I am sure there are many of your comments to choose from. Glad for the update and you are in the minds of several at church today........Heard from Barb??????
