DEATH TO TLB

4/24/2015

TLB is gone! along with all the lymph nodes remotely close, and her ovaries, but the little bastard is gone! Surgery went smoothly, they were able to remove everything using the robot, they did have to go in to sew everything back together, but that is A-Okay.  She has a 3 or 4 inch incision along her c-section scar and 5 or 6 little incisions from the robot. the total surgery lasted 8 and a half hours, and we wont get to see her for another 2, for now, we're all catching up on some much needed sleep. Thank you all for all of the thoughts, prayers, facebook posts, comments, texts, calls, and messages. They worked wonders. I'll let my mom give you all the little details i missed later. On to the final round!

Had KLOVE playing on the stereo this morning while I rode my exercise bike and worked in the kitchen. Seemed like every song they played made me think of you, Barb! Overcomer by Mandisa....Day One by Matthew West... YOU are an overcomer, and today is Day One of the rest of YOUR life (mine too, come to think of it!). Praying you have a fast recovery and get to come home again soon!

Dear Barb and family,
I'm glad that the whole surgery experience is behind you (lame joke). Uncle Jim and Aunt Mary updated me on Sunday (Kind of funny that they are more linked in with face book than I am). Sounds like you should be headed home soon. May your recovery go well and your attitude continue to be amazing! Love you, your NM cousin

Dear Barb Downey and Family,
It sounds like good news that you made it through your surgery and survived. I always pray for you to recover from TLB Surgery and you will be back to the ranch soon. In fact, I saw you with Joe Carpenter at the Downey Ranch on "That's My Farm Show" on Ag AM in Kansas all of times for me to learn from you to make a great successful living as rancher and cattleman in which I am planning to be. To be honest, I am 100% supporting the Kansas Beef Industry and honored to be part of that. You and your family are beautiful and great family at your cattle ranch. It's great that you and Joe are involved with KLA and NCBA as members. I am going graduate from Kansas State University on May 14th, 2016 with my Bachelor's Degree in Animal Science & Industry with Production Management option. May the good Lord keep you healthy and strong like the rest of us.

Respectfully,
