What's a Private Treaty (P/T) Bid Off?

Less stress. No pressure.
We've been selling bulls private treaty in the spring for a number of years. However, we had customers that wanted to "get in line" so that they would have a chance at the entire offering. We had people who wanted to hold their place in line even before the bulls were off test. In order to keep it fair to everyone (and reduce a little stress on our end!) we started a P/T Bid Off in 2022.
On the 4th Saturday in April, the entire spring offering becomes available. Bulls will be at the ranch HQs like you've come to expect. Each bull will have their lot number posted in the sale barn along with their price. You register for a bidder number, we give you clips with that number, and you put your clip on your selection(s).

To be eligible for a bid-off, you MUST have your number on at least one bull.
At noon, if there are multiple clips on a bull (in other words, multiple folks are interested), we will start with the bull with the most interest. Bidding will open between only those folks who already had a clip on that bull. Last hand in the air wins. No yelling, no pressure, just keep your hand up as long as you're interested.

Should the last bidders drop their hands at the same time, lowest bidder number gets the bull.

So, what happens if I don't "win" a bid-off?
You can take your clip and put it on any remaining bull. Only those folks that have lost a bid-off are eligible to move their clips to a different bull. We will conduct more bid-offs until there are no longer any bulls with multiple interest.
